Thai Boxing Croydon: Off the Record Visits TBCC

Thai Boxing Community Center (TBCC) recently welcomed young people from Off the Record to our Croydon centre for a one-hour Thai boxing session. The visit was an opportunity to get active, learn new skills and celebrate the achievements of a young world champion from our community.

Bringing Young People Together Through Thai Boxing

During the session, the group practised Thai boxing techniques with guidance from our instructors in a welcoming environment. There was plenty of participation, encouragement and smiling as the young people put their new skills into practice.

Off the Record provides free, confidential counselling and support for young people in Croydon. At TBCC, we value opportunities to welcome local organisations and introduce young people to physical activity through Thai boxing, also known as Muay Thai.

Sessions like this give participants space to try something new, learn alongside others and experience our community first-hand.

Celebrating Shazhaib Ramjahn’s World Championship Success

The visit also gave us a chance to celebrate 18-year-old Shazhaib Ramjahn, who represented England at the Unified World Championships in Italy in October 2026, winning gold medals in both Muay Thai and K1.

Prepared and coached by Sobhraj Nankani at SN Combat Academy, Shazhaib returned as a Unified World Champion in both disciplines.

His contribution extends beyond competition. As an assistant instructor in TBCC’s children’s and youth classes, Shazhaib also helps younger participants develop their skills.

We shared his success with the visiting group and marked the occasion with photographs together, bringing an international sporting achievement back to the local community.

Supporting Young People at TBCC

For TBCC, the visit brought together two important parts of our work: creating opportunities for young people to take part in Thai boxing and celebrating what commitment to training can achieve.

Whether someone is stepping into a class for the first time or working towards competition, we want our Croydon centre to be a place where they can learn, build confidence and feel they belong.

Thank you to Off the Record and everyone who joined us. We were delighted to welcome the group and share in a proud moment for our community.
